Generic Nexium – Dosage
Always take this generic nexium medication as prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist. Do not consume generic nexium in larger quantity than prescribed by your doctor. Do not continue this medication for more duration than suggested by the doctor. The general time period for treatment is about 4 to 8 weeks. Only your doctor can decide whether or not you need another course of this medication. Nexium should be consumed about one hour before every meal with a full glass of water. Take this medication as it is, do not break, crush or open the capsule. By opening or breaking the capsule, you may cause too much of drug to release at one time. For people who find it difficult to consume tablets or capsules, Nexium can be given through a nasogastric (NG) feeding tube. You can open the capsule and sprinkle the medicine into a 60-milliliter syringe. Mix this medication with 50 ml water and shake the mixture after placing the plunger. The tip of the syringe should be clean and free of medicine granules. Attach the syringe to use the medication and wash it with generous amount of water when done. Also, your doctor might advice you to open the capsule and sprinkle the drug onto a tablespoon of pudding or applesauce, so that it becomes easier to swallow. But remember, you should not chew the mixture, just swallow it down the throat.
You should take Nexium regularly to get the desired results expected from this medication. Always make sure that you have refills available with your, incase your medicine runs out completely. You might not be able to see any immediate effects after you start taking this medication. do no stop taking Generic Nexium, unless advice by your doctor. Complete the entire length of the course as prescribed by your doctor. Nexium is stored at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
